Hello, I’m B. Peter Monson, ACMHC, MPA (He/Him). I’ve had the privilege of working with adults, couples, and older teenagers for the past three years, specializing in trauma therapy. My approach to therapy is led by you—the client. I aim to meet you where you are with structure, compassion, and a deep curiosity to explore and support your growth. I believe in creating a safe space for you to work through your challenges at your own pace.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. I’m trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, ART, IFS, Gottman, EFT, and am a certified level 2 NARM therapist. My training and experience allow me to offer a flexible and tailored approach, ensuring we find the strategies that best fit your needs.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold bachelor’s degrees in Chinese and Economics, as well as a Master’s in Public Administration and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to becoming a therapist, I had careers in Military Intelligence, Non-Profit work, and International Governmental Service, which have all shaped my perspective and approach to therapy.
Outside of work, I’m a single dad who enjoys surfing, hiking, mountain biking, and traveling internationally. These passions are an important part of my life and influence the way I approach therapy—believing in balance, exploration, and connection in all aspects of life.
If you’re ready to begin your journey, I’m here to walk with you and support you in creating lasting change. Let’s work together to uncover the best path forward for you.
