Alexa immigrated to the US from Sicily, Italy at a young age and was raised close to the beaches of New York. Before moving to Utah she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Psychology from SUNY Old Westbury and a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University, with a focus on children and family. During her graduate program, Alexa worked in high school-based setting where she served adolescents and families of various backgrounds and walks of life.

Alexa is passionate about working with adolescents, individuals in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community, and those who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, grief, and other relational issues. She utilizes patience, active listening, empathy, and acceptance when working with her clients. Alexa is aware that the decision to seek therapy services is a strength i and of itself. She strives to cultivate a space that allows for the experience of human existence to be seen and heard while creating an environment to flourish and grow. Alexa believes that a therapeutic relationship takes time and allows for greater insight and wisdom. She is committed to walking alongside her clients as they embark on the journey of who they are, express experiences and the goals they have. She understands that there is not a one-size fits all approac when navigating difficult times and is committed to finding what works and what does not. Alexa has certified training in Trauma Informed-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), The Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS), First Aid/CPR, and NARCAN Overdose Prevention. She also utilizes evidence-based practices such as DBT, Mindfulness, Art therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a Here-and-Now approach.

Outside of therapy, Alexa works as a Medical Social Worker in Hospice care. She also enjoys hiking the outdoors, engaging in volunteer efforts focused on Women's rights, fostering animals reading, writing poetry, traveling to new places, trying new food, binge watching Netflix and snuggling with her cat, Morty.
