HE/HIM

Therapist | CSW

I am originally from Brunswick, Georgia, and have lived in Utah for seven years. Brunswick is located on the Atlantic Ocean and has four barrier islands. I grew up fishing, boating, and swimming. I am a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Georgia National Guard. I served in the Navy for five and fifteen years in the National Guard. In each service, I was assigned to the intelligence division. For sixteen years, I worked with Homeland Security. During my lifetime, I have traveled to eight different countries and twenty-eight different states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. I attended SLCC and graduated from the University of Utah with my master’s in social work.

Being a mental health therapist has been one of my most rewarding occupations. It is very gratifying to help people and service them with therapy and resources. I work primarily with teens and adolescents but recently branched out to work with adults. Everyone has the right to better themselves and should be afforded all resources that accommodate that right. Being a therapist has taught me the necessity of humility, understanding, and empathy for all people in all environments. I use trauma-focused CBT, Mindfulness, elements of DBT, cognitive reframing, and client-centered therapy to help people navigate their emotions and impart to them skills, knowledge, and resources.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy hiking, trying new restaurants, road trips, music, being a novice at the guitar, fishing, watching college football, and spending time with my family. All these things help me be a more well-rounded person.
