Lauren has always been drawn to people; learning their stories, providing a safe space, and helping in times of need. Her whole life, she planned to work in medicine to aid those in her community. She found fulfillment in the medical field beginning at age 18, first as an inpatient phlebotomist then as a clinical assistant at Planned Parenthood. It was there that she realized her passion for the field was based in empathetic connection and building trust with those she served. After this realization, Lauren pivoted from biology and is now earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah’s College of Social Work.

Her experiences with staff and clients here have reaffirmed her excitement to pursue a career in the field, and she plans to apply to the Master of Social Work program this fall.
