Mai specializes in immigrant trauma and second-generation immigrant experience. Being a second-generation immigrant herself, she has an understanding for the unique challenges and cultural complexities that individuals and families face in the immigrant experience. Mai provides culturally sensitive therapy that addresses acculturation stress, family conflict, identity issues, discrimination, and trauma/vicarious trauma related to migration experiences. Her ultimate goal is to help families, couples, and individuals increase life satisfaction; whether that be by improving relationships, making healthy connections, learning new skills, managing mental illness, etc.
